BIG BASS BONANZAMelqavira · Slipstream Derby Race Control
Independent fictional tabletop concept

Race the lane.
Own the last cast.

Slipstream Derby is an imagined Big Bass Bonanza-inspired board game. Crews run lit river lanes, hold bright chips for the right moment and chase one final trophy fish at the dock.

Every boat starts with a reason to take the next bend.

A crew receives one boat pawn, a tackle signal and a clean view of the board. The purpose of the first turn is not to rush; it is to decide which lane matters before the storm wakes up.

Lane map

The river runs like a circuit, not a city loop.

A live lane runs through signal docks, current gates and catch windows. A boat can move quickly, but it cannot erase the choice of what it leaves behind.

01
Launch dock
Take a starter lure and set a visible route.
02
Aqua gate
Draw an Action Card or bank a bright chip.
03
Signal bend
Choose a shortcut only after paying its cost.
04

Fictional tabletop storm die
Storm broadcast

One die changes the whole waterway.

When Storm Vector appears, crews resolve the same current in order. Spend a bright chip, use an eligible card or drift to the next signal tile. No result is hidden and no crew is skipped.

Control sequence

A four-button turn.

01

Read the lane

Match the live colour to a dock or current gate.

02

Commit one move

Travel, cast or bank a chip. No stacked actions.

03

Resolve the signal

Flip the card or die while every pawn stays visible.

04

Hand over control

Reset the lane and pass the board to the next crew.

Power deck

Play the tool. Keep the river honest.

Every card stays in the open while it has an effect. The deck adds timing and choice without making the score automatic.

After a cast, cross one open lane and discard under the signal light.

Cross-Lane Drift

Cross-Lane Drift

Every boat shifts to the next aqua tile unless its crew spends one chip.

Voltage Lure

Voltage Lure

Turn a matching fish token into two bright chips once per cycle.

Night Route Meter

Night Route Meter

Read the next two docks before your boat enters the river.

Tackle lab

Small gear powers the long run.

The lab holds the objects a crew actually handles: lure tools, fish tokens, a spare bright chip and the meter that confirms an open lane.

  • Dock rule — Trade one visible token for one face-up tool.
  • Discard rule — Used signals leave the board before the next move.
  • Final rule — A trophy attempt needs the matching tool pair.

High score cabinet

The last dock counts the whole run.

Fast boats earn momentum, but the scoreboard rewards a route completed in the open, a tool set saved for the right moment and a trophy fish properly banked.

Final broadcast

Trophy Run closes after every crew gets a turn.

When the first boat reaches the last dock, finish the cycle. Crews with a matching tool set attempt the fish; then the open cabinet decides the winner.
